Vaginal Health

Okay, so Fifi is the name of my vagina. Why? Because she deserves a cute name and because half of the time she is fluffy. But enough about my vagina lets talk about yours!

Our 'Fifi's' are sensitive little things with a mind of their own sometimes and it's tricky to know what is the best thing for them at some points. We've decided to curate a list of what to do and what not to do with your best friend Fi.

Water, water, water!

Hydration is the key to everything in our life, whether it is keeping our yoni space clean and tidy, our skin clear, our hair light and fluffy or our eyes sparkly. Water is the magic ingredient.

Water helps to rid bacteria in the body through urine and helps in boosting your vaginal health.

Your diet has an influence on your Fifi's health too. Having a nutritious diet is key to making sure that your reproductive health and general health is in good conditioner. So packing fresh, organic (if possible) fruit and vegetables into your belly throughout the day will help the survival of your precious Fifi.

Okay, girls, whatever it is that might be inserted into your Fifi (some have hell sex lives) just make sure that it's CLEAN! It's really not that hard to do. If your partner has just gotten home from work and wants to touch your pink bits, my goodness make sure they have washed the germs off of their hands. We are sensitive down there so treat yourself with CARE and RESPECT!

Never use soap when washing your vagina, the vagina is a complex system and is more than capable of cleaning itself! Your vagina has a PH level of 3.8 to 4.5 and using different soaps and body washes can mess up the good bacteria that live there! Stick to just warm water instead.

Make friends with your gyno!

It's awkward, we know. You're laying there with your legs spread wide open, everything on display for someone that you don't see very often and saying 'Yo doc! Can ya take a look?!' But we can't stress how important it is that you push that awkward moment to the side to make sure you know what's going on down in hoochytown. Pap smears are a bit icky sometimes, but you need to get it over and down with to ensure that everything is safe and healthy!

If you're noticing anything strange happening down there, GO AND SEE YOUR DOCTOR! If its itchy, stinging or slightly smelling funny, it's not normal. Make sure you treat your downstairs with care and make sure she's healthy!

If you're using lubricant during sex, DO. NOT. USE. PETROLEUM. JELLY! has the word 'petrol' in it. Surely that is enough.

But sometimes when you are having sex it's normal to have vaginal dryness. If this does happen, don't be afraid to use lube. Trying to have sex with a dry vagina can end painfully for you and your partner!

Use the toilet!

Ladies, please, please, PLEASE use the toilet after sex! Even if you don't have to! It's not always important to urinate before sex like most people think, but it is crucial to go after sex. Urinating after sex instantly mechanically flushes out the bacteria that could enter the urethra (where we wee from) and lowers our chances of getting a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) and TRUST me, you do not want one of those!

There isn't an exact time limit of when you should go to the toilet, but as long as it is done within a reasonable amount of time, you can still enjoy your after-sex cuddles!

Let her breathe

Your vagina is a picky little princess ladies, but she's allowed to be! She loves cotton undies because it breathes and absorbs moisture. That's why most underwear comes with a thin strip of cotton fabric in them (yes, you finally understand what that little bit is!)

Don't wear wet bathers or clothing for too long as well. A moist, warm environment is a breeding ground for yeast, so keep it easy breezy down there and avoid thrush and yeast infections!

Like the Divinyls great Chrissy Amphle said 'I love myself, I want you to love me; When I feel down, I want you above me; I search myself, I want you to find me; I forget myself, I want you to find me'.

Having a relationship with yourself is key to relationship success with others. So ladies, touch yourself, get to know yourself, LOVE YOURSELF! We have one of the most beautiful natural wonders, explore it! Our vaginas are fascinating creatures and it's time to love that about ourselves.

Girls, if you don't know what feels good and what you like, how on earth can you expect anybody else to be able to pleasure you!
